​​​​​Our Before and After School Care program for children attending kindergarten, have both group and individual activities designed to keep them engaged and entertained. Children spend time with friends and enjoy activities that are relevant to school-age interests.

We help children think, feel, and experience new challenges. In our program children develop complex coordination skills, while engaging with peers. They begin to express their goals and wishes as they seek self-identity and explore interests and behaviors in an age-appropriate way. Our activities are both structured and unstructured, which support the child’s physical, social, intellectual, creative, emotional development and spiritual growth.​

Our classroom environment is carefully designed to:

• Help each child develop effective communication skills.
  

• Provide opportunities to practice active listening, negotiation, compromise, and leadership
  

• Support teamwork on long-term projects
  

• Encourage language and communication skills through literacy, drama, and music.
  

• Inspire each child to enjoy learning.
  

• Provide experiences that develop the children’s ability to problem-solve, observe, predict, and explore cause-and-effect relationships
  

• Provide opportunities to explore math relationships such as classification

About Our Method

Our Out of School Care program philosophy is based on the belief that all children deserve to feel safe, both physical and emotionally.

They should feel accepted, and cared for at all times, regardless of age, culture or background. Holy Family Preschool & Educational Centre Ltd. believes that each child and each family is a gift from God, and they will be treated with love and respect.

Our Out of School Care Program support each child in developing healthy peer relationships through group games and events, to develop leadership, planning, organizing, and team-building skills. 

Children are also stimulated to stay active. We promote physical activities through small- and large-group games and outdoor activities; focus on balance and strength during daily fitness activities.

We promote the link between physical activity and proper nutrition in creating a healthy lifestyle. 

Our children participate in writing, performance, and word games. They also have the opportunity to build positive self-esteem and positive self-image through age-appropriate activities.

If students would rather relax before or after going to school, they can choose to participate in activities such as craft and learning games or an independent activity. 

Spiritual Emphasis: 
The Christian spiritual aspect of our program is part of everything we do. Children participate in prayer, table grace or they may choose to participate in stories, songs of praise and crafts based on special events. Our teachers share the love of God and the virtues of the Holy Family of Nazareth. To love, respect and care to one another, their enthusiasm of God's wonderful creation and being thankful for all His gifts.
